Ontario care guide
Some people qualify for government-funded physiotherapy in Ontario. Others may pay privately or use workplace benefits. Eligibility depends on the program and clinic.
Ontario has a government-funded physiotherapy program with specific eligibility rules, including some age groups and people in certain post-hospital or assistance situations. Not every physiotherapy clinic participates in this program.
Private physiotherapy services commonly charge fees. A workplace or private health plan might reimburse eligible costs; that is separate from OHIP funding.
Ask if the specific clinic offers government-funded physiotherapy, whether you qualify, what documentation is required and whether any services would be billed separately.
